Norton enters the homestretch: superbike with V4 200 hp

The legendary British motorcycle brand is going to regain the glory of not only the company, which once upon a time was the market leader, but in the current conditions can shoot and in some ways eclipse Japanese-Italian-German mainstream: 1200 cc V4 is going to beat the best superbikes of the world.

Earlier, presenting Norton SG5, the company immediately joined in the battle for speed records in the annual races such as Isle of Man TT. In the race, in the early summer of 2016, superbike from Donington Hall took 7th place, showing the highest average speed on the Mountain Course (209,4 km/h), accelerated to 311 km/h in the speed trap at Salpi – i.e. it is officially recorded. After this success, the plant took a step forward by creating a new production version of the superbike.

The official presentation will take place at the exhibition Motorcycle Live Show in November, until then not much is known about the technical specifications and the final “commercial” form of the bike.

The bike is built around the original 1200 cc engine Norton V4 200 hp (data in various publications vary). Fully aluminum chassis of the pipes, variable section, standing on the Ohlins suspensions and brake mechanisms Brembo of top models.

Norton wants to sell 200 of these motorcycles and already accepts pre-applications, so the price tag is not advertised.
