Dongfeng 580 was introduced in April last year at the annual Beijing Auto Show. In the summer of 2016 it went on sale in China and was a great success.
In appearance of the SUV Dongfeng 580 of 2017-2018 model year can be traced similarities with Kia Sportage of the 3rd generations. Basically it is evident in the design of the front part of the car body and is in the narrowed shape of forward lighting headlamps and compact radiator grille.
Body silhouette shows the off-road proportions with a high roofline and massive rear part.
The lower part of the body is protected by plastic covers on the perimeter. The whole appearance of the car turned out pretty solid, only 17-inch wheels spoil the view a few.
With imposing external dimensions of the crossover, they seem to be too small and out of place. Wide arches can accommodate wheels of larger diameter, but, unfortunately, they are not provided even as a paid option.
Dongfeng is offered only in the seven-seat version. Third row, consisting of two separate seats, is probably for children and adolescents. Adults will not feel too comfortable there, too little room provided for the passengers’ feet.
The second row of seats designed to accommodate three people has a much larger space and freely accommodates adults of any height. The front seats are comfortable back shape, preventing fatigue of the back even with a long stay in the car. They are also provided with excellent lateral support.
For finishing is used high-quality synthetic leather and a variety of colors, as well as a nice soft plastic, wood and aluminum inlays.
The controls are conveniently located on the center console and the steering wheel of the car. The main element of the front panel is a touch screen of multimedia device, completed with a variety of functions.
Crossover Dongfeng 580 has a sufficiently high level of equipment for its price range. Various configurations are equipped with such options as:
– Anti-theft system;
– Keyless entry system and start using the button;
– Assist with the movement on the ascent and descent;
– Heated front seats, steering wheel rim and door mirrors;
– LED fog lights and running lights;
– Parking Assistant, etc.
At a high level of technical equipment, the SUV has an affordable cost, allowing it to compete successfully in the Chinese market with models such as the Nissan X-Trail and Honda CR-V. The cost of the basic version of the crossover is 72.9 thousand Yuan. The richest package can be purchased for 101 thousand Yuan without additional paid options.
